Several courts across the country are closing or severely limiting operations in response to the pandemic. We will try to keep you updated on all closures, delays, or interruptions to services as they develop. In addition to the list previously published, we have learned of the following closures:
California:
El Dorado County is closed until 04/01/2020
Georgia:
The following counties, Public Access Terminals are inaccessible to the public. They will not reopen until further notice.
Burke, Crawford, Evans, Fannin, Gilmer, Henry, Jefferson, Liberty, Long, Marion, McIntosh, Muscogee, Peach, Pickens, Polk, Talbot, Tattnall, Taylor
In the following counties, the Public Access Terminals are still accessible, but the counters are closed. Records and possible records cannot be completed until they are reopened.
Bibb, Bryan, Chattahoochee, Clayton, Columbia, Dougherty, Fayette, Harris, Madison, Richmond, Spalding
Kentucky:
All county courts are closed to the public effective immediately and all hearings will be done remotely until April 10th at the earliest. It is up to the individual court whether or not access will be granted to public records.
Kentucky courts that are now closed to the public with no access for researchers until further notice:
Allen, Barren, Boyd, Bullitt, Calloway, Carter, Christian, Clark, Clinton, Davies, Greenup, Hancock, Hardin, Harlan, Harrison, Hopkins, Marion, Marshall, McCracken, McLean, Morgan, Ohio, Union, Washington
Maryland:
All Maryland courts are closed to the public. Searches can be done; however, files cannot be ordered until further notice.
Michigan:
The courts in the following counties are closed to the public, effective immediately, until further notice.
Delta, Eaton, Kalamazoo, Lenawee, Marquette, Muskegon, Oceana, Tuscola
New York:
Cattaraugus, Saratoga, and Schenectady county are closed to the public effective immediately and no searches can be done until further notice.
Rhode Island:
All Rhode Island courts are closed to the public. Searches can be done; however, files cannot be ordered until further notice.
Tennessee:
The courts in the following counties are closed to the public, effective immediately, until further notice.
Bradley, Henderson, Grundy, Hickman, Loudon, McMinn, Polk, Sequatchie
Vermont:
Access to the courthouses by the public has been restricted, but searches can still be completed at this time. Please expect some delays
